About Moi
I’m an elementary school teacher. First and foremost, my passion is yoga-I teach that, too. I love all kinds of music, wasting time, learning new things, philosophizing (? is that even a word) , making lists, using stuff up, reading, cats, pet birds, creating ATC’s and altered journals, the idea of simplicity, cool stationary and paper products, Buddhism, world religions in general, Asian and Indian art and philosophy, attempting to cook, being a foodie, and being into too many things at once.
Here’s my professional yoga bio:
Stephanie Snowden has been teaching yoga for 5 years. She is a certified Body Flow instructor who recently completed Shiva Rea’s Prana Flow 200 Hour Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training Program with Micheline Berry at Yogani Studios, in Tampa.
A native of Florida, Stephanie grew up in Miami, and went to Florida State University where she obtained her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. Stephanie then relocated to Tampa and “found” yoga. She became so passionate about the benefits of yoga, that she got her Body Flow certification, which is a mind/body class that combines elements of Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates.
Stephanie sees yoga as a “meditation of movement”. She seeks to energize and strengthen the physical body, while, at the same time calming and quieting the mind. Her teaching style incorporates focusing on the breath (prana), and structuring classes in a way that allows everyone to participate safely.
The practice of yoga has given Stephanie the ability to weather life’s storms, to find serenity, and to cultivate wellness. She seeks to bring this awareness to others through her teaching.
In addition to teaching yoga, Stephanie is a 1st grade teacher, part time artist, and avid reader.
